Kashmir Flooded: One Death In Doda, 84 In Rajouri

Rajouri is one of the worst hit districts as far as casualties are concerned. Official sources said 84 deaths were reported from the district which included 63 deaths in the marriage bus that was washed away and another 21 deaths in a landslide.


Police sources in the region said they have been able to recover only 50 bodies so far and efforts are underway to recover other bodies.


Meanwhile an official spokesman said a child lost her life and two persons suffered injuries in Doda district. The spokesman said 362 houses were damaged which includes 43 fully damaged, 59 severely damaged and 260 partially damaged houses.


The girl Child aged 3 ½ years namely Miss Priya D/o Santosh Singh R/o Kotli (Banjal) died due to electrocution and among injured are 18 years old Haqikat Singh S/o Walayat Singh R/o Chakka Tehsil Kastigarh, who got injured due to falling of boulders in Chill Nallah and has been shifted to GMC Jammu and Mr. Sukhvinder Singh a GREF Employee (JE) also suffered injuries at Ragi Nallah, while clearing slides and was admitted to District Hospital Doda for treatment when the reports last came in.
