Over 200 fruit trucks from Kashmir moving out daily: Govt

More than 200 trucks carrying different varieties of fruits have been moving daily from the valley to outside mandis, besides more and more mandis which were affected due to floods have started the trading, the state government informed Saturday.


According to Secretary Horticulture, Sanjeev Verma, on the request of the State Government, Azad Pur fruit mandi at Delhi would remain open tomorrow on Sunday for receiving supplies from Kashmir.


He said full support will be given to the fruit growers so that they are able transport the produce to the mandis outside the state. Besides, he said assessment of loss to the fruit crop has already started.
