Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the flood-hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir Saturday afternoon to review the situation as fresh flash floods and landslides in the state has resulted chaos.
Official sources said Army has joined the relief operations as situation turned grim in the state where the deluge has wreaked havoc, damaging roads, dozens of bridges, buildings and crops.
Singh will be accompanied by Minister of State (PMO) and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh.
Home Minister is scheduled to meet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
The senior officials of Home Ministry accompanying Shri Rajnath Singh will include Secretary (Border Management), Sneh Lata Kumar and Additional Director General, National Disaster Response Force.
