Kashmir Flooded: Mirwaiz says ‘Huriyat leadership with the masses at this hour of grief’

Expressing serious concern over the heavy loss of lives and property due to the torrential rains and floods in Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday asked people to play vital role in rehabilitation of the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir at large.


Flanked by his party men, Mirwaiz visited the flood affected areas of Pandrethan, Bye-Pass, Nowgham, Narbal, Magam and several other areas.


The APHC chairman while sharing grief of the affected people stated that the Huriyat leadership will be with the masses at this hour of grief and shall remain on the forefront in extending all possible help to the flood victims. Mirwaiz also stressed upon the people to come forward so that in unison, the efforts could be made for the rehabilitation of the flood victims besides all possible help for the homeless.


People appraised the APHC chairman about the situation erupted after floods, complaining that no measures were taken by the state administration in ending the crises.


Also an emergency meet of the senior APHC leadership was held at Mirwaiz Manzil wherein all the district and Tehsil committees of the conglomerate were directed to each to the flood victims for all necessary assistance at their local level.


Meanwhile, the Emergency Relief Centre, established at Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal is making all efforts to reach with relief material to the affected areas at present and masses are being asked to provide every possible help in cash and kind to the centre so that it could reach more and more flood victims.
