Kashmir Downpour: Surnkote Flooded, Border Guard Died As Bunker Collapses

Surankot A Border Security Force man was reportedly killed after a bunker collapsed due to heavy rains in Poonch district, local news gatherer GNS said.


The incident was reported at Chapri Kanari post in Surankote area of Poonch. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rashid of 154 Battalion.


An army sepoy Balbir Singh of 40 Rashtriya Rifles was reported missing after heavy rains and flood at Mandi in the district while a police post at Bahram gaka in Surankote was washed away.


Meanwhile, a lady identified as Sairah Bano wife of Mushtaq Ahmad was washed away at Mandi while Muhammad Ishfaq of Dangri Mandi died as a result of flood, official sources said.


Another person identified as Muhammad Aslam is missing, they said.


Meanwhile, more than hundred people are trapped in Surankote River and efforts are on to rescue them, official sources said.
