Kashmir Downpour: Srinagar Has 76 Pumping Stations In Operation

SRINAGAR


Srinagar city has 76 pumping stations in place and the operations to drain water in water-logging prone areas is going on, Muncipal Commissioner Dr Qasba has satted.


“There will be no submergence where these pump stations are working. They function round the clock,” commissioner Qasba said. “We have put in place sucker machines and high pressure mobile dewatering units for quick results. However, these major pumps are subservient to the electricity supply.”


Besides, 37 mobile dewatering pumps have been deployed on demand and ten mobile pumps have been put on standby mode. A dewatering mobile pump has already been set up at Haj House and Cooperative colony.
