KL Report

SRINAGAR

In wake of unexpected cold and inclement weather, Coordination Comiittee Darsgah Taileem-ul-Quran Walhadees (CCDTQ), an amalgam of 25 Islamic centres Wednesday appealed to all the clerics and preachers of Kashmir Valley to offer congregational prayers and observe the coming Friday as ‘Youm-e-Dua’.

The amalgam has appealed the clerics to recite ‘Qunat-e-Nazla’ during the Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, people from various parts of Kashmir Valley organized ‘Bhandara’s’ and distributed turmeric rice which is considered a good omen. Markazi Muhammadia organized a ‘Bhandar’ in Sumbal area of Bandipora district. Hundreds of people offered congregational prayers there.

Long spells of rainfall and snowfall have already cast repercussions on the agriculture and horticulture with experts predicting a marked decrease in the paddy and apple production this year. (CNS)
