Four persons including two brothers were booked by police on Wednesday for targeting a People’s Democratic Party vehicle in South Kashmir’s Qazigund town.
A Police official said that a PDP vehicle (JK18-5466) fitted with public address system was on election campaign when four persons pelted stones on it and damaged its windowpanes.
He said that the vehicle was coming from Lamad Qazigund and near Aarward hamlet the culprits attacked the vehicle with stones causing damage to it and injuring few people who were travelling in the vehicle.
“We took cognizance of the complaint filed by People’s Democratic Party workers and lodged an FIR vide number 66/2014 under section 341, 427, 336 of RPC against the four accused,” the official said.
Police have identified the four accused as Muhammad Iqbal Kulay son of Muhammad Yousuf, Master Miralam son of Lal Deen, Muhammad Ashraf Kulay, Muhammad Aslam Kulay sons of Muhammad Baqa. Sources said that all the are the workers of ruling National Conference party.
A police official said that the accused are still at large and they would be arrested soon.
