Police Action on Tehreek-e-Hurriyat An Example of Martial Law, says Nayeem Khan

Strongly condemning the banning of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat convention, using brute force against the party leaders and activists and continuous house detention of old and ailing Hurriyat chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Monday said that the so called administration is trying to become more loyal than the king.

“When even indoor functions are banned it can only be termed as martial law,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said. He said that using batons against the old persons is nothing but shamelessness.

He said that the so called government has choked the space of its political opponents and the same is trying everything to please its masters in New Delhi.

He said that imposing undue restrictions upon the political activities of its opponents, “the RSS backed regime is only trying to keep New Delhi in good humour so that its power is prolonged.

Khan also condemned the arresting of Jammu Kashmir Freedom Party chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah in Delhi along with his two associates.

He said that New Delhi is trying to frighten Shabir Ahmad Shah by opening fabricated cases however the resistance leadership cannot change its political stance vis-a-vis Kashmir by such “imperialistic tactics”.

“Arresting pro-freedom leadership can yield no results,” Nayeem Khan said adding New Delhi should instead adopt a policy of accepting facts so that its people can enjoy the fruits of stability and prosperity.
