Terming the arrests spree in Khudwani Kulgam by the SOG and police, injuring of 27 youths in just 3 days with the pellet fire and arrest of 4 persons from Kakpora Pulwama and slapping of PSA against them as the worst kind of “state terrorism”, Hurriyat (g) Thursday cautioned that if this process of “barbarism and inhuman treatment” with the common people continues, a strong reaction will came to fore against this in the state and the people will forced to come on the roads.
While expressing its deep concern and anguish over the sever pallet injury in the eye of a youth and face injuries to the dozens of other youths, Hurriyat (g) said that the pellet has been declared as a lethal weapon and its use has been accepted as the grave violation of the human rights and the international laws but it is openly and widely being used in the troubled state of Jammu & Kashmir and its use has left hundreds of youths disabled for their entire life.
Hurriyat (g) appealed the international and local human rights organizations to take serious notice of the freely use of the pallet gun against the common people in the Kashmir and use their influence in stopping the use of this deadly weapon.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (g) said that since the formation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government with the alliance of the communal Hindu party BJP, the graph of the barbarism and atrocities have increased to an alarming level and the police, SOG and army have created an atmosphere of fear and terror everywhere in the valley. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti are silent over this grave situation as if nothing is happening and everything is ok.
According to the Hurriyat (g), the first 6 months of the Mufti Sayeed government has proven to be very bad of its kind for the common people and this period has shown an increase of 50% in the incidents of crackdown, search operations, frisking, arrests and cruelties. While demanding immediate release of the citizens of Kakpora Pulwama Abdul Rasheed Sofi, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Riyaz Ahmad Dar and Bilal Ahmad Kakpora, Hurriyat (g) said that the Indian Union investigation agency NIA had caught any youth in the Udhampur and now they have got an excuse and they have started to arrest the people from all over the valley. “NIA is not only arresting the people on suspicious bases but now it has become a business. NIA is tapping the phone calls of the common people here and then charge them heavy ransom money. And in case of the refusal of the said payment, they are being threatened of arrest and shifting to the Tihar Jail.”
While taking strong notice of this situation, Hurriyat Conference (g) cautioned, “we can’t remain silent over it and if this process doesn’t stop immediately, then we will be forced to start a public agitation against this injustice and all its responsibility will be on the government.”
