Thirty-five residents of Pakistan administered Kashmir arrived in Srinagar Monday to meet their relatives as Caravan-e-Aman was flagged off from both sides of the Line of Control.
As many as 58 returnees also cross side at the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the border in Uri sector, official sources said.
35 PaK residents, including 15 women and six children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu Bridge. Three Kashmiris, who had gone to PaK in previous Caravan-e-Aman bus also returned to their homes after completing stay across the border with their relatives.
They said four Kashmiris, including two women crossed over to other side of the LoC along with 55 PaK residents who returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir. The PaK returnees included 27 women and four children.
The cross LoC bus has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947 to meet each other after India and Pakistan agreed to allow permanent residents on both sides of the LoC to travel on ‘Travel Permits’ instead of International passport from April 7, 2005.
