SRINAGAR
Abdul Majeed Rangrez, who was trapped in his house in which at least two militants are holed up in Ahmad Nagar, area of the city has been evacuated, a police official said.
Rangrez, along with his wife was trapped in their own house after militants managed to take shelter in their single story residence.
Sources said that the operation against the holed up militants has been intensified.
The encounter between the holed up militants and the forces restarted on Monday.
Police sources said that after a specific input about the presence of militants forces had laid a cordon in the area.
They added that after the initial firing the operation was suspended late Sunday evening and it was resumed Monday morning.
Sources said that owner of the residential house Abdul Majeed Rangrez along with his wife also remained trapped in the house throughout the night and the lady came out today morning while as his husband was evacuated later.
