SRINAGAR: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in the Thatri area of Doda on Sunday.
A police official informed the news agency KS that a vehicle with the registration number JK06B 1153 was on its way from Malnoo towards Kahara when it reached Charwah Kahara, near a stone crusher, and hit a pedestrian identified as Baber Ahmed, son of Mohd Rafiq, from Chabba Kahara.
As a result of the incident, Baber suffered serious injuries and was immediately taken to PHC Thathri for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries, he added.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation. (KS)
