SRINAGAR: Weather office officials have forecast generally cloudy skies with the possibility of a spell of rain in certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
According to a meteorological department official, from July 16th to 20th, mostly dry weather is expected throughout the day. However, there may be a brief spell of rain or thundershowers in scattered places in Jammu early in the morning, late afternoon, and evening, and in the Kashmir Valley in the evening.
He further stated, “Intermittent light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in scattered places from July 21st to 22nd. Overall, there is no forecast of any major rainfall until July 25th.”
Regarding the minimum temperature, the official mentioned that Srinagar recorded a low of 20.2°C compared to 20.7°C on the previous night, which is 2.1°C below the normal temperature for the summer capital.
Qazigund recorded a low of 16.8°C compared to 17.2°C on the previous night, which is 0.3°C above the normal temperature for the gateway town of the Kashmir Valley.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 12.1°C compared to 12.7°C on the previous night, which is 0.1°C above the normal temperature for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 18.2°C compared to 16.6°C on the previous night, which is 1.6°C above the normal temperature for the north Kashmir area.
Kokernag recorded a low of 16.5°C compared to 17.5°C on the previous night, which is 0.6°C above the normal temperature for the place, according to officials.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 13.0°C compared to 14.0°C on the previous night, which is 1.2°C above the normal temperature for the world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Jammu recorded a low of 26.6°C compared to 27.1°C on the previous night, which is 1.8°C above the normal temperature for Jammu and Kashmir’s winter capital. Banihal recorded a low of 17.8°C, Batote 19.1°C, Katra 22.6°C, and Bhaderwah 17.9°C, as per the official’s statement. (GNS)
