A gunfight broke out between militants and counter insurgent forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday wee hours.
Reports said that a joint team of Army and SOG launched a cordon and search operation in Beigh Mohalla in Shopian town after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came in exchange of firing was going on.
