A 10-day old baby who sustained injuries on Sunday late night after armies of India and Pakistan exchanged gunfire in Shahpur area of Poonch district to injuries on Monday morning.
The infant sustained injuries along with his mother Fatima Jan wife of Mohammad Qasim Gujjar on Sunday late evening after the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire in Shahpur sector. Another person identified as Mohammad Arif son of Mohammad Sayeed Rathore was also injured.
An official said that all the injured were shifted to District Hospital Poonch for treatment. However, the injured infant succumbed to injuries this morning.
Few houses in these areas also got damaged during shelling, said an official.
