Srinagar
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler, who was evading his arrest from a long time in north Kashmir’s Sopore town in Baramulla district.
A Police spokesman said that identified as Muzafar Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Sultan Shah resident of Adipora Sopore town.
“He was involved in drug peddling case FIR NO. 112/2019 U/S 8/22 NDPS act of Police Station Sopore in which huge consignment of drugs (Spasmoproxyvon capsules) were seized from his possession,” said the spokesman.
He said that community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” said the spokesman.
