MLA Rajpura Syed Bashir and MLA Shopian Abdul Razaq Zawora are not annoyed with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) decision for not issuing party ticket in their favour.
PDP issued its third list of candidates yesterday where the party has issued tickets to Dr Haseeb Drabu and Adv Mohammad Yousuf Bhat respectively for Rajpura and Shopian assembly segments.
“PDP is like a family and I have a long association of 40 years with Mufti sahib, it is party’s desecration to decide about the role of its members,” Syed Bashir told Kashmir Life Adding “how can I leave my party and my leader Mufti Sahab for a mere party ticket.” Syed Bashir said that he will continue to work for the party.
Syed Bashir was first elected from Rajpura Pulwama on the PDP ticket in 2002. He retained the seat in 2008. Dr Haseeb Drabu is the next PDP candidate from Rajpura constituency.
Abdula Razaq Zawora, the incumbent MLA of Shopian told Kashmir Life that he has himself surrendered his candidature on the health grounds. “I had myself requested the party not to consider me for the upcoming elections as I am facing many health issues,” Zawora told Kashmir Life. However, he added he will continue to work for the party.
Advocate Mohammad Yousuf Bhat is the new candidate of PDP for Shopian, constituency.
