Government Teacher Suspended For Tutoring At Private Coaching Centre

SRINAGAR: The Department of Education has ordered the suspension of a government teacher for teaching at a private coaching centre in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir.

An order states, “In accordance with Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules 1956, Mr. Bilal Ahmad Lone, a teacher at Middle School Garoora currently deployed at Model Boys Higher Secondary Anantnag, is hereby suspended with immediate effect, pending an inquiry into his conduct. This action is taken for violating Rule 10 of the J&K Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, Chapter (IV) Section 28 of the RTE Act, 2009, circular number 49-JK(Edu) of 2022, dated 17.11.2022.”

The order further states, “During the period of suspension, the suspended teacher shall be attached to the principal of the District Institute of Education and Training in Anantnag.” (GNS)
