SRINAGAR: Kashmir Valley has witnessed fresh snowfall particularly in the higher reaches. As per the Meteorological Department, Gulmarg received the 21.8 cm snow, highest in the valley followed by Pahalgam which received 13.5 cm of snow.
Kupwara received 5 cm of snowfall while as Kokernag received 1 cm of snow.
Srinagar recorded a rainfall of 7.1 mm, Anantnag 3.8mm, Baramulla 1.5mm
Meanwhile, the night temperature in Srinagar settled at minus 2.1 degree celsius. Gulmarg was the coldest place in the valley which recorded a temperature of minus 7. In Pahalgam, the temperature settled at minus 6.5. Kupwara recorded a low of minus 2.5.
In south Kashmir, Qazigund and Kokernag settled at minus 2.9 and minus 3.5 respectively. if Weather Update
Independent Weather Forecaster, Faizan Arif said that light to moderate snowfall is expected in all plains of Kashmir today. While, moderate to heavy snowfall may occur over higher reaches.
He said that day temperature is likely to stay below 3.5°C at most places (or at least for most of the time).
