SRINAGAR: Abdul Razak, who represented Shopian in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, is no more. He died last night after a protracted illness. He was around 80.
Razak was a PDP member. He won in the 2008 assembly elections.
Reports reaching from Shopian said Razak was not well for last many years. He died at his Zawoora residence in Shopian last night. He was laid to rest at around 11 am today.
Razak is survived by his wife, six daughters – all settled, and a son. His son is a farmer and takes care of his apple orchards.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti tweeted: “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of Abdul Razak Zawoora sahab. A true loyalist to PDPs agenda who stood by Mufti sahab through thick and thin. May his soul rest in peace.”
