SRINAGAR: Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley on Friday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.
The Metrological department Kashmir has forecast snowfall from December 4.
Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra was the coldest place in the Valley where the minimum temperature was minus 4.1 degrees.
The night temperature in Gulmarg in north Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.0 degrees.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius while Qazigund in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 1.8 degree Celsius.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 2.8 degrees Celsius last night.
Jammu city recorded 10.0 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.9, Batote 5.9, Banihal recorded 1.8 and Bhaderwah recorded 3.7 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest.
