SRINAGAR: Startup Move Beyond Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Innovation and Incubation Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IIEDC) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
The MoU was signed by Sheikh Inayat Ullah, Founder of Move Beyond, and Prof. Saad Parvez, Head-IIEDC NIT Srinagar.
The main objective of MOU was to reach out to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir for the success of the International Youth Outreach and Employability Program (IYOEP).
“To help the aspiring youth in fulfilling their aspirations and socioeconomic needs primarily career counseling, awareness programs, mentorship, skill development, life counseling, employability, and rehabilitation,” read the MoU copy.
On the occasion, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Rakesh Sehgal, who is also Chief Patron IYOEP, said that supporting local organisations like Move Beyond for regional development is one of the fundamental responsibilities.
He said proper guidance helps students to analyze their strengths and weaknesses and helps in finding the perfect career path.
“We hope both NIT Srinagar and Move Beyond teams will work jointly for the progress of student community in the region and organise awareness and counseling programs for them,” he said.
In his message, Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Kaiser Bukhari said the signing of this MoU will bring both organizations closer to serving society.
“There is no dearth of talent among the youth of Kashmir but there is a need for proper guidance, counseling to enhance and encourage their capabilities.
Prof Bukhari said all they need is basic handholding which I am sure that Move Beyond shall address this vital issue.
Professor Saad Parvez, Head IIEDC said Move Beyond is a social startup by youth and for the youth. “We are working hard to make this initiative a great success,” he said.
Regarding MoU, Prof. Saad said NIT Srinagar shall act as a mentor, patron, mobilizer, and facilitator of Move Beyond, so as to achieve its responsibilities pertaining to objectives to contribute to the regional development of the J&K.
Founder and Director of Move Beyond, Sheikh Inayat Ullah said they will work towards youth mapping, identification of potential aspirants, and opportunities on state, national and global levels.
“Move Beyond will also identify structural cum technical bottlenecks and developing solutions. It will task itself to place the potential aspirants at state, national and international level,” he said.
Sheikh Inayat Ullah said it will also conduct authenticity exercises to avoid fraud or duping of students and collaborate and engage in partnerships at the state, national and international levels for the furtherance of objectives.
“The idea is to inspire and provide direction to the aspiring students who are in the process of making and shaping their careers,” he said.
Chief Consultant of a startup is Prof Nisar Ali, economist of repute, formerly Adviser to J&K Govt, Higher Education Department.
During the LG Manoj Sinha visit to NIT this year, Move Beyond was hailed and was promised all financial and administrative support by the administration.
The startup has already been connected to the educational institutions in the Kashmir region and the financial support is also being worked out through the Department of Mission Youth, J&K Govt.
Move Beyond has been organizing several free events and webinars that include an awareness event on Fulbright Fellowships at the University of Kashmir, the first-ever international online Career Summit (2020), webinars on Startup Ecosystem in J&K, and fashion designing.
It has also organized Asia’s Leading Counselling Meet (2021). Earlier this year, the startup launched its exclusive online educational series ‘Career Chat’. Followed by another live series, ‘Success Tales’ that connects the students with the toppers of different competitive examinations.
