SRINAGAR: There was a slight respite from cold wave conditions in Kashmir as the minimum temperature rose marginally across several places in the Valley.
“Weather is likely to remain partially cloudy and dry during the next 48 hours according to the MeT office forecast,” an official of the MeT department said.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, registered 0.4 degrees Celsius compared to 0.3 degrees Celsius the previous night, an official of the MeT Department here said.
The ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, a star attraction for tourists visiting the Valley during winter, recorded a low of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam which serves as the base camp for the annual Amarnath yatra during summer recorded a low of minus 0.2 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a minimum of 0.1 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Kokernag town recorded a low of 1.2 degrees Celsius while Qazigund in south Kashmir registered a low of 0.0 degrees Celsius last night.
Jammu city had 9.6 degrees Celsius, Katra 10.2, Batote 6.1, Banihal 2.4 and Bhaderwah 3.2 as the night’s lowest temperature.
