Cold Wave Continues In Kashmir, Pahalgam Freezes At Minus 3.0

SRINAGAR: The minimum temperatures in most of the parts of the valley remained several notches below the freezing point on Sunday.

An official from the Metrological department Kashmir has said same weather conditions are likely to continue during the next few days as there is less chance of any major change in the prevailing weather during this period.

Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K recorded minus 0.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature while Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded minus 3.0 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The night temperature in Gulmarg – the famous tourist resort settled at a low of minus 1.5 degrees while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 0.2 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 11.1, Katra 9.6, Batote 4.2, Banihal 0.2 and Bhaderwah 2.3 as the minimum temperatures.
