SRINAGAR: Minimum temperatures again fall in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday due to clear overnight sky, with the summer capital Srinagar registering the coldest night of the season so far, a Met official said.
“The minimum temperatures dropped further across Jammu and Kashmir today due to clear night sky. These temperatures are likely to drop further as the weather is likely to remain dry till November end,” he said.
The minimum temperature recorded in the Srinagar city was minus 2.3 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest night so far, an official of the Meteorological Department said.
The famous hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir was the coldest place in Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius.
The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara township of north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.0 degrees Celsius. Kokernag, in south Kashmir, recorded minus 1.1 degrees Celsius while Qazigund registered minus 2.2, he said.
In the Jammu region, Jammu city recorded 9.0 degrees Celsius, Katra recorded 9.6, Banihal 5.8, Batote recorded 6.2 and Bhaderwah 2.2 as the night’s lowest temperatures.
