Heavy Rainfall In Kashmir: A Photo Essay

Srinagar: Heavy rainfall in Kashmir valley on Thursday brought some relief to the residents from scorching heat but the downpour affected normal life due to waterlogging in various areas of the valley.

Hundreds of vehicles got stranded this morning in Srinagar following incessant rains in the valley. The hours of downpour brought relief to the residents from scorching heat and humid weather conditions.

Following the water-logging, the district administration activated dewatering stations in the city. According to an official from district administration SMC ERA UEED, around 83 permanent dewatering stations, 22 temporary dewatering stations, and 13 vehicles of F&ES have been activated in City for dewatering. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir meteorological department has predicted more rains till July 28. “The rains would continue and there are chances of heavy rains for next three days till July 28,” the official added.
