“In the morning, when we were moving towards the university from Srinagar, a posse of CRPF men stopped our buses, boarded and asked us to show them the bags”, said Faheem, a student who was frisked.
The students also alleged that some students were made to come out of the buses and were checked outside.
The forces also searched bags of female students. “We tried to intervene when they started checking bags of female students, they threatened us and asked to shut up,” they said. The students later contacted the VC of the university, “he promised that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities,” said the students.
Another student who was aghast over this incident told Kashmir Life, “in the name of security forces cannot harass students.”
Also, video of the incident went viral on the social networking sites where the CRPF man with a bamboo stick in his hand was seen asking students to show him their bags.
