Srinagar: We the residents of area from Bota Kadal Lal bazar to Dargah Hazratbal Srinagar are facing not just a problem but are caught in a crisis of The Public Transport system.
Since the early nineties when this area started to develop as a residential place, the transport problem too started.
It takes nearly two hours to go from Lal Bazar to Lal Chowk. With less number of vehicles in operation, the drivers call shot and take passengers for a ride. With huge city population migrated to this area, the student community, employees, patients face huge problem in commuting from one place to other.
With assurances from time to time, there has been no change on the ground. The transport facility is seen nowhere in the evening. Around after 6: pm, the buses get off from the roads. Comparing the stretch with Soura Hawal, or Dargah Saida Kadal, this is worst hit. The buses plying on this road are often overloaded, a threat to a life.
To other places, both number of vehicles and extended timings are in place.
We appeal concerned authorities to have mercy as we too deserve a timely transport service.
