Srinagar: Saying that the Valley is passing through a most difficult phase, National Conference leader and former minister Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday, while expressing grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in Chadoora, called for a decisive fight against communal forces that have joined hands with opportunistic elements to disintegrate the state on regional and religious lines.
Addressing workers at Chrar-e-Sharief, Rather referred to the atrocities being committed upon people in the Valley on regular basis and subjecting youth to harassment and humiliation has taken alarming dimensions.
“If not checked, the Kashmir inimical forces would lead the Valley towards devastation”, the former minister said and held the PDP-BJP dispensation responsible for the prevailing grim situation. He called for ending the era of uncertainty by engaging all the stake-holders in meaningful dialogue. “The repression is no answer to political problems”, he added.
In yet another election meeting in Ganderbal district, Mian Altaf Ahmed slammed the PDP for pushing the Valley into unprecedented crisis with people feeling threatened once out of their homes. He said the insensitive government has lost moral authority to rule, as the people are suffering on all fronts.
MLA and Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah said in Badgam that PDP-BJP government has proved a bad omen for Kashmir, as the people find themselves pushed to the Valley with their dignity and honour in jeopardy. NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar and Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani also addressed various workers’ meetings.
The election meetings held in Kangan, Ganderbal, Budgam, Sonawar, Beerwah and Khan Sahib were also addressed by senior leaders including Former Ministers Abdul Rahim Rather, Altaf Ahmed, Mr. Mubarak Gul, MLA Ganderbal Mr. Sheikh Ashfaq Jabbar, Ms Shameema Firdous, State Spokesperson Mr. Junaid Mattu, YNC Provincial President Mr Salman Sagar, Mr. Tanvir Sadiq and Professor Abdul Majeed Mattoo and others.
The senior NC leaders exhorted the people to vote Dr Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, saying support to National Conference will end the traumatic regime of PDP-BJP that has inflicted unimaginable suffering and suppression on the youth.
