Srinagar: Extolling the contribution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in setting new benchmarks of introspection, accountability & justice in the system, Nazir Ahmed Khan, PDP candidate for Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary constituency asked its workers to strengthen the institution of democracy so that equitable and inclusive developmental agenda of the party could be rolled out.
“When people reposed their faith in the institution of dialogue and reconciliation, giving PDP a chance in 2002, the party not only delivered on peace but liberated Kashmiris from the shackles of uncertainty. As the party has a proven track record of delivery on justice, security, and peace, its efforts to lead Kashmir towards a better future needs to be supported and supplemented,” he said while addressing various public meetings in Batamaloo assembly segment today.
Spotlighting the subversive and malicious policies of National Conference which bulldozed the efficacy of institutions thereby depriving people of institutional delivery mechanisms and compounding their miseries, Khan said “Socio-economic upliftment and empowerment of the people forms the very basis for any forward movement towards any political resolution.”
Speaking on the occasion Youth General Secretary and MLA Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir said that PDP incorporates the answer to the political, economic and social crisis that we find ourselves in.
“Aspirations and genuine voices of youth were scuttled and muzzled as a result of which our youth have been pushed to the wall,” Yawar said adding that PDP is striving towards empowerment of youth through democratic means.
MLA Batamaloo, Noor Mohammed reiterated that infrastructural development of the Srinagar city is the prime focus of our party.
Also speaking on the occasion Abbas Wani, MLA Tangmarg said development of Sports infrastructure will be given impetus so that talented young boys and girls can compete nationally and internationally.
