Srinagar:
Firing shots reverberated in Nilaw village of Kulgam on Saturday evening after para-military personal stationed guard at the gate of camp “found some suspicious movement”, police said.
The guards of 18 battalion CRPF, fired indiscriminate shots around 9 pm for a couple of minutes.
Panic spread in the area after the firing shots were heard.
Locals said that, firing shots were heard for around four minutes.
“Guard fired after they witnessed some suspicious movement near the camp,” said SP Kulgam, Shirdar Patel to Kashmir Life.
Search operation was launched around the camp soon after.
“However, nothing was found,” SP added.
