Tral: A fierce gunfight is underway between militants and forces in Nazneenpora village of Tral in Pulwama district, reports said.
Army and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police laid a siege to the village after inputs about the presence of militants.
Meanwhile, stone pelting protests have erupted in Nazneenpora and adjacent villages of Pinglish and Hayena with youth taking to streets and trying to disrupt the forces’ operation against the militants.
Earlier, reports said that a large number of youth, assembled at Bus stand Tral, were throwing stones on the forces to prevent them from reaching Nazneenpora village where a siege was being laid.
They said that the youth attacked a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and snatched his service rifle.
