Handwara: In a unique move Joint Effort Trust (JET) distributed scholarships among around five hundred students at an impressive function held at Handwara on Saturday.
The function was attended by people hailing from all walks of life including large number of students hailing from different colleges.
Among dignitaries present on the occasion were Justice retired Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, Former Director General AIR Dr Rafiq Masoodi, ADC Kupwara Dr Hafiz Masoodi, Joint Director Education, Principals of different colleges, CEO Kupwara, President Private Schools Association GN War and officers from District Administration.

Dr Hafiz Masoodi in his inaugural address highlighted the contributions made by JET in promoting education, carrying out social work and helping the needy in different fields.
Incumbent MLA Langate Er Rasheed who is also the Patron of (JET) appealed youth to leave no stone unturned to achieve success in different fields of education. He appealed people to come forward and donate to JET so that things could be done in more collective and comprehensive form.
Rasheed appealed youth to remain away from politics and said that all political forces should ensure that the first priority of youth is education and political issues should be left to the wisdom of elders.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara appreciated the work done by JET and promised to provide all sorts of help whatsoever within his competence in the sector of education in District Kupwara.
Rafiq Masoodi stressed on the people to appreciate the social work done by JET and said that much needs to be done to achieve the desired targets in the field of education.
Speaking on the occasion Justice BA Kirmani asked for serious efforts to construct a vibrant and effective society which could create a space in the changing scenario around.
He appealed people to change at individual and collective levels for a better tomorrow.
