Encounter has started between army and suspected militants in Chillipora Heff in Shopian District of South Kashmir, reports reaching here said.
Joint forces of Army’s 55 RR and SOG had cordoned off few residential houses, today evening. Reports said they were acting on certain information about the presence of militants.
Soon after forces zeroed in, reports suggest there was exchange of gunshots at the spot. It stopped a few minutes later.
The police and army have installed floodlights around the besieged spot for clear visibility. Right now there is no exchange of fire going on.
