DAK delegation meets protesting NHM employees in Press Enclave, assures full support

Srinagar: A Delegation of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Thursday met the employees of National Health Mission (NHM) who are on pen down strike since Wednesday demanding regularisation.

The delegation was lead by Dr Khalid Pervaiz, founder president of DAK, Dr Mir Mushtaq, Dr Zahid Ahmad, and others.

Dr Mir Mushtaq spoke on the occasion and hailed the exemplary unity shown by the NHM employees  and said we are shoulder to shoulder with the NHM employees and assured full support to them for their “genuine” demands.

He criticised the govt for their insensitiveness and said that it’s ironical that govt has not framed any regularization policy regarding the employees till date.

Dr Khalid Pervaiz also spoke on the occasion and stressed that all the employees of NHM should be absorbed on the same analogy as of other state contractual employees.

He further said there are huge number of vacancies presently in the health sector which is understaffed and thus can be compensated if the skilled manpower of NHM is employed and regularized.

He further said that no employee especially from the health sector would like to go on the strike but since govt has pushed these employees to the wall so no option was left with them except to come on roads.

DAK appealed the govt to accept the “genuine” demands of the employees so that justice is served at the earliest.
