At Jammu airport, a lady intercepted with old notes

JAMMU: J&K’s police ant-hijacking section has intercepted a woman at Jammu airport carrying a bulk of notes in old denomination. It was handed over to the income tax department, a police spokesman from Jammu said.

The lady was identified as Mrs Badyal and the cash in old currency was to the tune of Rs 5.12 lacs. SSP Rajinder Gupta was quoted as saying that they informed income tax officials and the case was handed over to Parvesh Khajuria, Inspector Income Tax to take action as warranted under law.

The statement did not offer any idea about where from the lady was and what was the motive of flying cash that is worthless after the old denominations were banned.
