SRINAGAR: The authorities have identified untrained teachers, Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers, and Regularised Rehbar-e-Taleem (RReTs) tutors as ‘threats’ to the School Education Department. They also stated that they will closely monitor the objectives of private educational institutes, which, according to the Planning and Monitoring Department, also pose a threat to the department.
According to the news agency KNO, the Planning Department and Monitoring Department, in their ‘JK Vision Document 2047,’ list these threats as “Untrained teachers, ReTs, RReTs in government schools, and monitoring the objectives of private educational institutes.”
The authorities have outlined the following targets in ‘JK Vision Document 2047’;
All schools will be equipped with ICT facilities for 100 percent coverage, making J&K a Digital Hub where education will be delivered through E-mode.
Vocational Education schools will align with the vision of NEP-2020, providing basic vocational skills.
Every student will have the liberty to choose their preferred subjects, and teaching for these subjects will be accessible.
Digital platforms like DIKSHA will offer e-content for all subjects and classes.
In addition to physical classes, online teaching will be available through blended learning, flipped classrooms, and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
The ‘JK Vision Document 2047’ suggests that students will have increased opportunities for flexible learning, with e-learning tools supporting remote and self-paced learning. Classrooms will adopt a flipped model, where theory is learned outside the classroom, and practical instruction is delivered interactively.
In a recent report, the Planning Department and Monitoring Department revealed that a significant portion of the teaching workforce lacks the required qualifications. Over 36,000 ReTs and RReTs have been regularised without meeting the desired qualification levels.
