Five Missing Persons Reunited With Families: Police

SRINAGAR: On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have reunited five missing persons with their families in the Reasi district.

According to a police spokesman’s statement, Mohd Hanief, son of Akbar Ali from Channa Tehsil Chassana Reasi, reported that his daughter was missing from home.

“The missing report was entered vide DDR No.12 dated 21-02-23, and a search was launched. Enquiries from the family, relatives, and friends provided sufficient clues about the missing girl. Accordingly, the police activated their sources,” the police said.

After meticulous tracking and consistent efforts, the police stated that the girl was traced to Bhatindi, Jammu. After completing all legal formalities, the missing report was closed vide DDR no.15, Dated – 17/06/2023, and the girl was reunited with her family.

In another incident, a police team from Reasi traced another missing girl named Nazma Bibi, wife of Shaukat Ali and daughter of Khan Mohd. Her missing report was entered vide DDR number 08 dated 31/05/2023.

“After hectic efforts, the police team successfully traced the missing girl. After completing all legal procedures, the girl was handed over to her family,” the police said.

In another incident, Kulwant Singh, son of Ramdas from Tehsil Katra, came to P/S Katra and submitted an application reporting the missing of their two children, Sumeet Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar, and Raghbir Singh, son of Kulwant Singh, both aged 12 years and both neighbors and friends.

“On 14-06-2023, at about 1:30 pm, they were found missing from home, possibly having gone somewhere outside of Bhagtha or possibly having been kidnapped. A case under FIR number 193/23, under section 363 IPC, was registered, and the investigation was entrusted to PSI Raghav Chalotra,” the police said.

Through technical evidence and human intelligence networks, the children were traced after strenuous efforts by the team, including PSI Raghav Chalotra and HC Kuldeep Singh, who conducted searches in the UT and neighboring states. Finally, the children were traced near the Haryana-UP border district, namely Yamunanagar, the police said.

The recovered children were handed over to their legal heirs after completing the necessary legal formalities, the police said.

In another incident, Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid from Jij Kadeen Tehsil Thakrakote District Reasi, lodged an application regarding the missing of his wife, Ruksana Kousar.

Based on his complaint, a missing report was entered at P/S Arnas vide DDR No.10 dated 14/06/2023, and after intense efforts, she was traced in Kashmir. The missing report was closed vide DDR No. 19 dated 19/06/23, and after completing all legal formalities, she was handed over to her legal heirs, the police said.

Meanwhile, the people of Reasi, in general, and the family members, in particular, appreciated the prompt response of Reasi Police in timely tracing the missing individuals. (KNO)
