Pulwama district in southern part of Kashmir is observing a complete shutdown on Monday to mourn the killing of two local militants.
ON Sunday, two local militants Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Ahsan of Mehand Bijbehara and Shariq Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad of Gulzarpora Tikyna Awantipora were killed in a brief gunfight with forces at Tahab village of the district.
Reports reaching here said that all shops, business establishments are closed in Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora and its adjoining areas while as public transport is off the roads.
Meanwhile, Railway authorities have suspended the train services between Srinagar and Banihal for the day. The decision has been taken in view of the situation that arose after the killing of two Hizb militants.
Sources said that keeping in view the tense situation in south Kashmir the Srinagar-Banihal train service has been suspended.
However, authorities said that the services between Srinagar and Baramulla will run normally.
