Clashes in Islamabad town after Friday prayers

Clashes erupted in Lal chowk area of Islamabad district in southern part of Kashmir after Friday prayers.

Reports said that scores of youth assembled outside Jamia Masjid Islamabad raising pro freedom slogans and later tried to march towards Lal Chowk Islamabad. However, police deployed in strength in the area tried to stop them, triggering clashes.

Reports said a lady namely Sarwa Begum wife of Mohd Shafi Pathan from Reshi Bazar resident of Islamabad was hit by a stone in her eye during clashes. She was later shifted to District Hospital Islamabad for treatment.

Police officials told Kashmir Life that minor clashes erupted outside Jamia Masjid, in which a lady was hit by a stone, and situation is under control now.

Clashes were going on in the area when this report was being filed.
