Incarcerated APHC-m Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of 21-year-old Naseer Ahmad Bhat in Seer Hamadan Islamabad and 17-year-old Asif Majeed Nagoo of Sonawani Qaziabad in Kupwara who succumbed to injuries sustained in forces action on September 04, 2016.
Paying glowing tributes to the “martyrs”, Mirwaiz expressed sympathy and solidarity with the parents and families of the slain person and said, “sacrifices of the young and innocent Insha Allah will bear fruit and Kashmiris will be liberated.”
Stressing that the “genocide of Kashmiris” was being carried under a well-planned conspiracy, where more than 76 people have been killed around 10000 injured and more than 200 blinded and maimed, the APHC-m chief said in a statement issued this evening, “it was painful and criminal that the international community was watching as a silent spectator the brutalities carried out by the Indian state in Kashmir.”
Meanwhile APHC-m spokesperson informed that the judicial custody of its incarcerated chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who was under house arrest before that has been extended.
Expressed concern over the indiscriminate firing of tear gas shells, pellets and bullets at peaceful protest demonstrations and marches in Rangreth, Machwa Bagh-i-Mehtab, Seer Hamdan and various other areas across Kashmir by the forces and their agencies resulting in injuries to hundreds of civilians, ransacking of residences and arresting youth during night raids, and, Hurriyat Conference (m) termed it as “lawlessness and political vendetta adding people in general and youth in particular would not be cowed down by such tactics of repression”.
Stating that besides the APHC-m chief, senior Hurriyat Conference leaders including Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari and Mukhtar Ahmed Waza continue to remain under arrest while Waza’s health has deteriorated in custody, many Hurriyat Conference activists and workers have also been arrested.
The spokesperson made it clear that the “freedom-loving people would not be cowed down by the oppressive and suppressive tactics adopted by the government”.
