Fire Guts 13 Houses in Noorbagh

At least 13 residential houses were Tuesday completely gutted in a fierce blaze at Gat Colony in Noorbagh in Qamarwari area of Srinagar.

Locals told KNS that early this afternoon fire erupted in a house in Gat colony and engulfed twelve neighbouring residential houses.

Locals said that the cause of the fire could be electric short circuit.

Official in Fire Service department said that four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.

Tehsildar Eidgah, Nusrat Aziz said that the fire has fully gutted 13 residential houses. “We are assessing the damage caused by the fire and how many families have been affected,” Nusrat said.
