Assembly Session: Upper House Pays Tributes to Kalam, Former Members, Dead Hajj Pilgrims

The upper house of state legislature early Saturday paid tributes former president of India, late APJ Abul Kalam, former legislature members and those pilgrims who lost their lives during annual Hajj pilgrims.

The chairperson, Legislative Council, Haji Inayat Ali, initiated the proceedings by paying homage to Dr A P J Abul Kalam, former president of India.

Nine others who passed away in last six months include Ghulam Rasool Kar, ex-Congress minister; Ghulam Mohammad, ex-minister; Abdul Gani Shah (Veeri), ex-minister; Khawaja Sonaullah Dar, ex-minister; Janak Raj Gupta, ex-deputy speaker; Ghulam Mohammad Misgar, ex-MLC; Vir Chand Mahasha, ex-MLC; Farida Mir, ex-MLC and Mian Jalal-Ud-Din, ex-Secretary legislative Assembly.

The upper house members also prayed for the departed souls of Hajj pilgrims who lost their lives in crane crash and Mina stampede incidents during annual Hajj pilgrimage.
