Mirwaiz Put under House Arrest

Authorities on Friday placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest however there are no restrictions in any part of the city, sources said.

Umar has called for protests after prayers against the killings of two youths by Army at Chattergam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district earlier this week.

Hurriyat (M) chairman has appealed clerics of all the mosques in the valley to lead protest rallies after congregational prayers against the killing of innocent youths.
