SRINAGAR:
Kashmir on Thursday reported it’s first Coronavirus death after a 65-year-old man died at Chest Disease (CD) hospital Dalgate, Srinagar.
Reports said that the man had a medical history of illness with Sugar, hypertension and obesity.
A resident of Hyderpora, he was admitted to the hospital barely two days back. An established businessman, he is survived by three daughters and a son – all settled.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, government spokesman Rohit Kansal wrote: “#COVID19#JammuAndKashmir Sad News: First death due to Coronavirus- 65 years old Male from Hyderpora Srinagar. Four of his contacts also tested positive yesterday.”

“Despite our best efforts, the COVID19 positive patient at Chest Disease Hospital passed away due to cardiac arrest. The patient had a medical history of prolonged illness with Sugar, hypertension, obesity,” an official said.
The patient had gone to Delhi and attended a Tableegi Jamaat meeting whee he had interacted with various others from abroad. Authorities have identified and admitted at least four more cases who reported with Coronavirus after attending a religious meeting in Andhra Pradesh. They are all from a Bandipora village.
