Militants and government forces exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC)in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning, said police.
Taking to the social networking site Twitter Police wrote:“ Exchange of fire at Keran sector #Kupwara. Details will follow.”
An official said that a group of militants opened fire when they were challenged by the forces near the Line of Control today morning. The forces retaliated, resulting in an exchange of fire.
