Islamabad town shuts against alleged ‘police atrocities’

Srinagar

Islamabad town of southern Kashmir is observing complete shutdown on Saturday against the alleged “atrocities” on civilians by the Police.

The shutdown is being observed on the call of local traders who alleged that police went berserk yesterday and damaged their properties.

The traders of the area alleged that some shopkeepers were roughed up by police while six were detained.

The traders staging a sit-in protest at Lal  Chowk, demanded an end to alleged police excesses and the transfer of the local SHO.

Pertinently, the town witnessed clashes on Friday between protesters and the government forces.
