Hundreds of students at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Wednesday held massive protests against the killing of a young student by forces at Shopian.
The students raised massive anti-India, pro-Kashmir slogans and marched towards the Srinagar-Jammu highway. A large contingent of police intercepted the protesting students triggering clashes. “Police fired massive teargas shells and stun grenades to disperse the protesting students,” a student informed Kashmir Life.
Aadil Farooq Magray of Ganowpora Shopian was killed last evening in force’s firing during clashes which erupted after forces cordoned off the area.
