Students protest against nocturnal raids in Pulwama, demand release of arrested classmates

Four students have been arrested during the overnight raids in Pulwama town in Southern part of Kashmir, reports said on Tuesday.

Locals said that police raided several residential houses during nights and arrested four youth allegedly involved in protests. However, they alleged that at least twenty students were arrested during a raid last night.

Today morning the students of Boys Higher Secondary school protested against the raids and pelted stones on police. Police retaliated triggering clashes.

Reports said that the protesting students caught hold of an SOG man in the town and burnt his bike.

The clashes have led to the shutting of main town Pulwama.

Clashes were going on when last reports came in.
